At ARS/Rescue Rooter, we understand the importance of employing and honoring active and retired military personnel. Our employees who are Veterans already know the value of teamwork, communication, and organization. “It is truly an honor to employ the men and women who have fought for our freedom,” says Dave Slott, ARS President and Chief Operations Officer. To honor our Veterans, the ARS Corporate Office and various branches are donating HVAC systems, organizing casserole drives, and other volunteer and fundraising activities. ARS would also like to recognize a few individuals in the field for their service. Many thanks to all of our Veterans for their service! Happy Veteran’s Day!
Veteran Spotlights
Marion McIntyre
Assistant Call Center Manager, Western Division
Marion was a printer in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. She was raised by a father who was a Marine, and he insisted that she and her five brothers all serve. She loved living in South Korea, and she wants civilians to know, “It isn’t about the money or glory for us; our service is for America and those who need us.”
Christopher Schilling
Safety, Warehouse and Fleet Manager, Rescue Rooter/Jack Howk
Christopher served three years in the Navy out of Norfolk, Virginia, where he went overseas numerous times to the Mediterranean and North Atlantic areas. His experiences were instrumental in giving him a strong work ethic. Christopher has been with Rescue Rooter/Jack Howk for 25 years! He says that his military service taught him how to “take each situation as it comes and determine the best course of action to see any problem through to its most ideal end.”
Erma Gipson
Receptionist, Corporate Office
Erma served as a medic at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC, during the Vietnam War. Some of her patients included President Eisenhower and other dignitaries! She was stationed in many places, including Germany.

Taylor Frederickson
Warehouse, Rescue Rooter/Jack Howk
Taylor began his military career at the age of 18 as a Military Police Officer. A year later he was deployed to Afghanistan where he trained the Afghanistan police.
